  60.                                 INTRODUCTION
  61.
  62.           MED#1  -  Medical  Office  Management  system  for  micro
  63.           computers   will   increase  efficiency  in   the   daily
  64.           administration  of  the  business side  of  your  medical
  65.           practice.  MED#1 has been designed with special  features
  66.           unavailable  in other medical systems and is  very  'user
  67.           friendly'.   We're confident you will find MED#1  one  of
  68.           the easiest systems to use, especially if you are already
  69.           acquainted  with computer operations.  But, even  if  you
  70.           aren't,  MED#1  will  take you  through  operations  with
  71.           simple   one-key  functions  that  follow   the   logical
  72.           progression of your normal routine.  With an awareness of
  73.           the  spiraling costs of office administration,  MEDshare,
  74.           Inc.  has developed its marketing concept to deliver  the
  75.           best  possible  product  at a price  far  below  existing
  76.           medical systems.
  77.
  78.           MED#1  WILL  OPERATE  ON MOST  POPULAR  MICRO  COMPUTERS,
  79.           ALLOWING YOU TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A LOCAL COMPUTER  STORE
  80.           FOR HARDWARE SUPPORT.  MED#1 IS SO EASY TO USE YOU  DON'T

  82.           PERSONNEL.
  83.
  84.           The best advantage of MED#1 is this opportunity to  fully
  85.           test the system before you make your purchase decision  -
  86.           'TRY-BEFORE-YOU-BUY'.   While  you  are  limited  to  100
  87.           patients  in the un-registered version, that is the  only
  88.           limitation.   You  can take those  100  patients  through
  89.           every  function  of recording, posting  transactions  and
  90.           billing,  allowing you to test to the full extent of  the
  91.           system.    Upon   registration  you  receive   a   unique
  92.           registration  number that will unlock you from  this  100
  93.           patient  limit. THE SYSTEM YOU ARE TESTING IS THE  ACTUAL
  94.           SYSTEM  YOU WILL BE USING.  (You will receive a  copy  of
  95.           the  newest  version of MED#1 available along  with  your
  96.           registration.)
  97.
  98.           No  other  software  company  gives  you  this  kind   of
  99.           opportunity,  and  we  encourage you  to  copy  your  un-
  100.           registered  disk and share it with a colleague who  might
  101.           be interested.
  102.
  103.           No special forms are required for printing.  All  reports
  104.           will  be printed on 8 1/2" by 11" standard  stock  paper.
  105.           Custom statement forms, the standard insurance  HCFA-1500
  106.           (AMA-1984   and  AMA-1990)  forms,  and   various   state
  107.           insurance  forms  are  supported  and  available  through
  108.           MEDshare,  Inc., but the system will print without  them.
  109.           Copies  of the standard forms are available will be  sent

  120.           MEDshare,  Inc.  is committed to making that  a  reality,
  121.           especially  for  the single doctor  practice  where  cost
  122.           factors and limited personnel made it impractical in  the
  123.           past.   We  are  also  committed  to  a  'stand  by  you'
  124.           philosophy  of  business,  offering  a  sales  and  phone

  129.                          *** SUMMER 1993 RELEASE ***
  130.
  131.           MED#1 - Version 1.07 was initially released in the spring
  132.           of 1992 as an upgrade for version 1.06.  At that time the
  133.           primary  features  new  to the  MED#1  -  Medical  Office
  134.           Management system included improved transaction  posting,
  135.           expanded  insurance information capture, and the  ability
  136.           to  operate in a network environment.  During  this  same
  137.           time  MEDICARE  was  releasing it's  new  HCFA-1500  (Rev
  138.           12/90)  insurance form as a required replacement  of  the
  139.           older HCFA-1500 (1984) form.  As with anything new -  and
  140.           especially  anything government backed - confusion as  to
  141.           how to fill out this new form created additional work for
  142.           everyone.   For the past twelve months many changes  have
  143.           been made to the MED#1 - Version 1.07 program and most of
  144.           these  changes were related to the use of the  new  HCFA-
  145.           1500  form.  In addition to all of this MEDICARE and  all
  146.           other primary insurance carriers started to pressure  all
  147.           providers to file their insurance claims electronically -
  148.           not  on paper.  This requirement is due to the  insurance
  149.           carriers  need  to  cut  overhead  costs  and  speed   up
  150.           insurance claim processing.
  151.
  152.           This  current  release of MED#1 -  Version  1.07  (Summer
  153.           1993)  contains  all of the required  changes  needed  to
  154.           handle the new HCFA-1500 insurance form (and its  various
  155.           special  formats) and enhancements for Electronic  Claims
  156.           Servicing.   In  addition to the changes  made  to  MED#1
  157.           changes  have also been made to its companion  program  -
  158.           COLLECT  -  Version  1.04  - so that  it  can  be  called
  159.           directly  from  MED#1  and  provide  additional  accounts
  160.           receivable support.  In the support of Electronic  Claims
  161.           Servicing  two new programs have been developed  -  ECS01
  162.           and  ECS02.  Each of these programs interface with  MED#1
  163.           to  extract information necessary for the  formatting  of
  164.           insurance  claims  for  electronic  transmission  to  two
  165.           different insurance claims clearing houses.
  166.
